The role:
As a Buyer, you’ll be responsible for managing procurement activities across an engineering-focused supplier base, supporting the execution of supply chain strategy and fostering strong, risk-aware supplier relationships. The role involves driving continuous improvement, leading supplier reviews and audits, resolving issues at root cause, and ensuring the delivery of quality products and services at the best total cost. You’ll also support the introduction of new parts, prepare RFIs and RFQs, and identify new sources capable of meeting technical and commercial requirements.
What we want from you:
- Strong analytical abilities with solid IT skills and practical experience using MRP/ERP systems
- Experienced in technical and engineering procurement, especially for machined components
- Skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings and understanding manufacturing processes
- Background in working within integrated project management teams and supporting cross-functional collaboration
- Knowledge of contract formation and negotiation, with CIPS Level 4 (or higher) qualification preferred
