We are seeking an experienced Oxy Burner to join our team on a major industrial project in Dunbar. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient cutting and removal of existing steelwork, plant, and structural components as part of ongoing demolition and decommissioning activities. The role will involve working in a challenging industrial environment and may require access to elevated and restricted work areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out oxy-propane/oxy-acetylene burning and cutting operations on existing steel structures and plant.
- Dismantle and remove steelwork in accordance with project specifications and method statements.
- Conduct pre-use equipment inspections and ensure all burning equipment is maintained in a safe working condition.
- Work safely in accordance with site health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Follow permit-to-work systems and site-specific risk assessments.
- Assist with lifting, rigging, and material segregation activities where required.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards within work areas.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other site personnel to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
