Are you an accomplished Data or Business Analyst with advanced Excel and Power BI skills and a passion for operational improvement? We are looking for a Business Analyst to join a high-profile Operational Excellence programme supporting a group-wide strategy to improve productivity by 30%. Sponsored by the CEO, the programme is focused on site-by-site business transformation through data-driven decision-making, lean principles, digital automation and close collaboration with senior leaders. This is a high-impact opportunity to analyse complex datasets, develop forecasting and planning models, automate manual reporting processes and build Power BI solutions that improve operational performance across multiple sites and functions.

Contract: 6 months, with potential extension

Working pattern: On-site Monday to Thursday, working from home on Friday

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure-to-Order Workstream
    • Develop parts-level forecasts using historical sales, demand and production data.
    • Build forecasting models that translate product demand into component-level requirements using generalised Bills of Materials.
    • Develop analytical tools to identify part commonality across product families and child BoM structures.
    • Translate demand forecasts into inventory and supplier stocking requirements.
    • Design and maintain forecasting models supporting Operations, Supply Chain and Procurement decisions.
  • Supply Chain and SIOP Support
    • Take ownership of the Line of Balance process, including automated data extraction, transformation and reporting.
    • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards illustrating SIOP performance and key operational constraints.
    • Build scenario models to evaluate different production, supply chain and inventory-planning options.
    • Own and continuously improve production load and capacity models.
    • Provide analytical support for supply-and-demand balancing activities.
  • Procurement Automation
    • Automate procurement KPI extraction and reporting processes.
    • Develop repeatable reporting solutions that reduce manual effort and improve data accuracy.
    • Create dashboards providing visibility of supplier and procurement performance.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline processes through automation and digital solutions.
  • Supply Chain Performance Analytics
    • Develop and maintain performance-management dashboards and KPI reporting.
    • Design Power BI solutions providing clear visibility of operational performance against targets.
    • Analyse supplier data and develop vendor-performance dashboards.
    • Generate actionable insights supporting supplier reviews, operational decisions and continuous improvement.
    • Establish standardised reporting and performance-measurement processes across supply chain functions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Transformation
    • Communicate weekly with senior site leadership to review findings, align assumptions and maintain programme momentum.
    • Present insights, recommendations and programme plans to executive-level sponsors.
    • Define tactical implementation plans supporting both foundational improvements and transformational change.
    • Coach site process owners to build capability and confidence.
    • Lead agreed actions with strong sponsorship from senior site stakeholders.

About You

You will combine exceptional analytical capability with practical business understanding and a passion for automation. You will be comfortable working with large and complex datasets, developing sophisticated analytical models and presenting clear recommendations to senior stakeholders. You should be able to understand business problems quickly, create scalable analytical solutions and deliver high-quality outputs at pace.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, Supply Chain Analyst, Business Analyst or Operational Performance Analyst.
  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, operations or supply chain environments is highly desirable.
  • Experience developing forecasting, planning, production-load or capacity models.
  • Ability to lead individual workstreams and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong potential to develop into a future leadership position.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Excel
    • Expert-level Excel capability, including: PivotTables and PivotCharts, Power Query, XLOOKUP and advanced lookup functions, Complex formulas and analytical modelling, Data validation, cleansing and transformation, VBA and macros would be advantageous.
  • Power BI and Data Visualisation
    • Strong Power BI experience, including: Data modelling, DAX, Power Query, Dashboard development, Performance optimisation, Executive-level reporting.
  • Automation and Analytics
    • Strong experience in process and reporting automation.
    • Ability to build repeatable and scalable analytical solutions.
    • Understanding of data structures, data cleansing and data-governance principles.
    • Ability to convert complex datasets into meaningful business insights and practical recommendations.
    • Experience with SQL, Python, Power Automate or similar tools would be advantageous.
