The Opportunity
Are you an experienced Bid Manager with a track record of winning work in high-security, highly regulated sectors? Looking for a long-term contract that offers excellent regional flexibility across major UK hubs? We are seeking a Bid Manager to spearhead end-to-end proposals targeting our Secure Government Market portfolio. Working alongside technical experts, consultants, and business development leads, you will manage complex bids from early capture right through to contract award and delivery handover.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Bid Ownership: Run the day-to-day lifecycle of high-value proposals, owning the Bid Management Plan, budgets, schedules, and governance.
- Win Strategy & Storyboarding: Collaborate with Account Directors to translate client intelligence into compelling win themes, structured storyboards, and question-by-question wireframes.
- Process Excellence: Manage proposals in accordance with structured frameworks like Shipley, ensuring compliance with internal stage-gate reviews and technical/commercial approvals.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Assemble and guide multidisciplinary bid teams, facilitating stakeholder and competitor analysis workshops.
- Commercial Support: Oversee the production, review, and optimization of pricing and commercial models.
What We Are Looking For
- Secure Sector Expertise: Proven experience successfully delivering bids from PQQ and ITT stages through to client interviews, specifically within secure government frameworks.
- Security Clearance: Must hold an active SC Clearance to hit the ground running.
- Methodology Alignment: Practical experience with structured bid processes (e.g., Shipley) and industry-recognized sales techniques (e.g., Miller Heiman).
- Tools Proficiency: High level of comfort utilizing Office365, MS Project, and CRM systems.
Ways to Stand Out
- An APMP qualification (or actively working towards it) is highly advantageous.
- Prior experience navigating a complex, matrixed global corporate environment.
- Experience utilizing proposal automation tools.
