Are you an experienced AS9100 Lead Auditor ready to take ownership of a critical audit programme?
We’re supporting a leading engineering organisation in their search for a Lead Auditor to drive the successful preparation and delivery of an upcoming AS9100 Rev D recertification audit.
This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where you’ll play a key part in ensuring compliance, improving processes, and guiding the business through a major certification milestone.
The Opportunity
You’ll be joining a dynamic engineering environment, working closely with operational and quality teams to:
- Assess current quality systems
- Identify compliance gaps
- Deliver audit readiness across the business
- Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement
This role offers a strong opportunity to make an immediate impact, with potential for extension or permanent transition.
Key Responsibilities
Audit & Compliance
- Perform gap analysis against AS9100 Rev D
- Identify non‑conformities and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure documentation meets regulatory and organisational standards
Audit Planning & Execution
- Develop and deliver internal audit schedules
- Create structured audit checklists aligned to AS9100
- Conduct audits across processes, products, and systems
Non‑Conformance & CAPA Management
- Raise and manage NCRs
- Lead root cause analysis activities
- Implement and track corrective and preventive actions
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with engineering and operational teams
- Provide guidance on compliance and best practice
- Support implementation of improvements
Reporting & Readiness
- Track and report audit readiness progress
- Present findings and risks to senior leadership
- Support external audit preparation and execution
What We’re Looking For
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100 Rev D
- Proven experience as a Lead Auditor
- Background in manufacturing or engineering environments
- Experience with:
- Internal/external audits
- QMS systems
- Root cause analysis & CAPA
- Excellent analytical and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience in aerospace, defence, or complex engineering sectors
The Details
- Contract: 6 Month Fixed Term (potential to extend/convert)
- Location: Bedford Hybrid – 2 days onsite
- Working Pattern: 4-day week (Mon–Thurs)
- Security Clearance: BPSS to start, SC eligible
