Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias to join a busy engineering and manufacturing environment. This role is key to ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of site electrical systems and equipment.

You will play a vital role in delivering planned preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment uptime and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and site equipment
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults in a timely manner
  • Interpret and work from electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Maintain and repair a range of industrial equipment including:
  • Overhead cranes and jibs
  • Plasma and gas cutting machinery
  • Sawing and drilling equipment
  • Welding and grinding equipment
  • Forklifts and sideloaders
  • Perform mechanical tasks such as bearing and gear replacement
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety procedures and site standards
  • Work independently when required, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractor activities where necessary
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives across the site
  • Skills & Experience

    • Time-served electrical engineering background in a maintenance environment
    • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
    • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential)
    • Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical systems
    • Experience maintaining industrial machinery and plant equipment
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
    • Strong awareness of Health & Safety compliance
    • Self-motivated with a proactive, hands-on approach
