We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias to join a busy engineering and manufacturing environment. This role is key to ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of site electrical systems and equipment.
You will play a vital role in delivering planned preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment uptime and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and site equipment
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults in a timely manner
- Interpret and work from electrical and mechanical drawings
- Maintain and repair a range of industrial equipment including:
- Overhead cranes and jibs
- Plasma and gas cutting machinery
- Sawing and drilling equipment
- Welding and grinding equipment
- Forklifts and sideloaders
- Perform mechanical tasks such as bearing and gear replacement
- Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety procedures and site standards
- Work independently when required, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractor activities where necessary
- Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives across the site
- Time-served electrical engineering background in a maintenance environment
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential)
- Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical systems
- Experience maintaining industrial machinery and plant equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong awareness of Health & Safety compliance
- Self-motivated with a proactive, hands-on approach
