An exciting opportunity has arisen for Assembly Technicians - Electrical to join a growing production team in Ampthill.
Working a 4-day week (Monday-Thursday), you'll be responsible for manufacturing high-quality cable harnesses and electrical assemblies for advanced defence systems.
This is a hands-on production role where quality, precision and attention to detail are essential.
Full training and ongoing development will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for experienced cable harness technicians or electrical assemblers looking to develop within the defence sector.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacture electrical cable harnesses and wiring looms from engineering drawings and work instructions.
Carry out cable preparation, crimping, soldering and connector assembly.
Assemble electro-mechanical products using hand tools, jigs, fixtures and measuring equipment.
Interpret engineering drawings, wiring schedules and build instructions.
Complete work to a consistently high quality standard.
Identify and report production issues, working alongside Engineering to resolve them.
Follow all manufacturing, quality and health & safety procedures.
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience in cable harness assembly, wiring looms or electro-mechanical assembly.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and build instructions.
Experience with: Crimping Soldering Cable preparation Connector assembly Excellent attention to detail.
Able to work independently and within a production team.
Desirable Experience
IPC knowledge or certification (training can be provided).
Experience within Defence, Aerospace, Military, Naval or other high-reliability manufacturing environments.
Experience working in high-volume production or manufacturing environments.
Previous experience with security-cleared projects.
Qualifications
Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline preferred. Candidates with Level 2 qualifications and strong relevant experience will also be considered
