Mane is recruiting an Environmental Manager to support the Energy Team on the SSE ASTI Framework in Alness, Scotland.
We’re looking for an experienced Environmental Manager with a strong background in environmental compliance, sustainability, and major construction projects.
This is an excellent opportunity to take a lead role in driving environmental best practice, managing environmental risks, and supporting sustainability initiatives across a major energy infrastructure framework.
The Role – Key Responsibilities
- Provide environmental and sustainability leadership, promoting best practice in collaboration with the SHESQ function.
- Ensure effective management controls are in place so that personnel understand their statutory environmental duties and responsibilities.
- Work closely with site management teams to ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability plans.
- Lead and support environmental incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor and analyse environmental and sustainability performance data, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement environmental campaigns and improvement plans in collaboration with the Operations Director and SHES Director.
About You
- Chartered IEMA status.
- Experience in practical environmental risk management on major construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of waste management, water management, pollution prevention, statutory nuisance, contaminated land, and ecological mitigation.
- Experience with environmental consents, licensing, Development Consent Orders (DCOs), and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG).
- A solid understanding of Net Zero principles and sustainability best practice.
- Experience in carbon measurement, reporting, and implementing initiatives to reduce emissions and improve efficiency.
