Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of electrical safety systems and ensuring the safe commissioning and operation of high, medium, and low voltage electrical infrastructure across onshore substations, offshore wind turbines, and associated cable networks. This role will support all phases of project construction, commissioning, and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage site-based Electrical Safety Rules, ensuring a safe system of work.
- Provide expert operational advice on MV/HV/LV electrical systems including offshore substations, WTGs, and both submarine and onshore cables.
- Ensure safe commissioning and energization of grid connections and electrical plant/equipment.
- Oversee all MV/HV/LV operational activities to protect personnel safety and network integrity.
- Coordinate commissioning activities through project construction stages.
- Take operational electrical responsibility for entire substations.
- Respond to work in adverse weather/emergency scenarios and potential on-call situations.
- Conduct electrical safety coordination and act as Senior Authorized Person (SAP).
- Manage outage scheduling and network control in cooperation with Control Engineers.
- Inspect and audit work sites for electrical safety compliance.
- Update schematic diagrams and verify accuracy.
- Prepare and review HV switching schedules and method statements.
- Provide training and mentoring to staff in electrical safety procedures.
- Attend FATs/SATs and commissioning panel meetings as needed.
- Support internal departments and act as liaison for technical electrical advice.
- Deliver toolbox talks and ensure safe start procedures for working parties.
- Execute pre- and post-energization checks on all wind farm electrical equipment.
- Assist with both onshore and offshore work rotations as required.

- Input to commissioning management manuals and quality plans (pre-commissioning and commissioning).
- Reports from Factory and Site Acceptance Tests (FAT/SAT) of HV equipment.
- Onsite verification of switching programs.
- Participation in audits and technical planning sessions.
- Resource planning and activity scheduling.
- Technical input during the design phase of the project.
- Issuance of Electrical Safety documentation.
- Physical execution of HV/MV/LV switching and isolations.
- Grounding and creation of isolation zones.
- Demarcation of work zones for contractors.
- Administration and documentation to support the Lead SAP.
- Participation in staff authorizations and candidate assessments.
Decision Authority / Responsibilities:
Authority in matters related to MV/HV switching and isolations. Issuance and management of safety documentation under the Electrical Safety Rules. Oversight of all on-site electrical safety practices and compliance.
