Mando Solutions, a specialist recruitment agency within the heavy plant sector, is recruiting on behalf of a well-established client. We are seeking a Fixed Plant Maintenance Fitter to support operations at a quarrying site.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned maintenance and repairs on fixed plant and site equipment to maximise asset performance and reliability
• Ensure all maintenance activities contribute to the ongoing capacity and value of plant equipment
• Assist in the development and implementation of Safe Systems of Work for all repair procedures
• Respond promptly to unplanned maintenance tasks and breakdowns, ensuring timely restoration of operations
• Apply permanent solutions to temporary fixes following emergency repairs
• Maintain clean, tidy, and hazard-free work areas in accordance with site housekeeping standards
• Liaise professionally with site management and address daily operational issues effectively
• Support and train plant operatives in carrying out basic maintenance tasks safely and correctly
• Conduct regular inspections, complete necessary documentation, and report any issues to line management
• Accurately input maintenance activities and updates into the site’s Computerised Maintenance Management System
• Take ownership of plant assets within your designated area, and assist in other areas as needed
• Monitor and document all equipment stoppages and breakdowns to support continuous improvement
• Ensure full compliance with all safety documentation and procedures related to maintenance activities
• Perform other reasonable duties in line with your role and capabilities when required
• Communicate effectively with all team members to maintain smooth and safe operations
• Provide assistance to other departments or teams across the site as needed
• Support the site’s reliability programme, including equipment changeouts and CM data recording
• Safely operate maintenance access tools and lifting equipment in line with site regulations

Experience

• Proven experience as a Fitter or in a similar role within the engineering or manufacturing sector.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations in an industrial setting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members.
