We're looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our team. Mando Group’s mission is to help ambitious digital leaders solve complex problems, enabling them to move faster, serve better, and reduce costs. Over the last few years we have built something rare: a respected, award-winning business with brilliant people and trusted client and partner relationships.

About you

You are outcome-obsessed, always focusing on delivering tangible value rather than just completing tasks. Commercially aware and ambitious, actively contributing to value creation and the growth of our business with an efficiency mindset, constantly looking for ways to streamline, simplify and automate. You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, remain calm and steady through uncertainty, providing clarity and reassurance to both clients and colleagues when things feel ambiguous or overwhelming. Customer obsession drives you, whether it’s winning new business or delighting existing customers, anticipating their needs and going above and beyond to deliver.

About the role

This is a key role within a close-knit PMO, working across a portfolio of ambitious digital transformation engagements for clients including enterprise DXP programmes, CMS migrations, and ongoing optimisation retainers. You'll take full ownership of the projects in your portfolio, from pre-sale planning support through to project close down - working closely with Account Directors, Product Owners, and Technical Leads to deliver on time, on budget, and to a high standard. You'll report directly to the Head of Project Management and be a valued contributor to the weekly PMO, helping shape how we deliver and improve our practices over time. The role is based in our Liverpool City Centre office, with at least one day per week in the office and flexibility to work remotely beyond that. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery across a portfolio of digital engagements, managing scope, budget, timeline, risk, and quality throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Set up and maintain project tooling including Jira project configuration, Project RAID Logs, Finance Report, and Work In Progress reports for weekly PMO reporting.
  • Chair internal and client kick-off meetings, planning sessions, weekly client calls, sprint ceremonies, and release meetings to ensure projects remain aligned, visible, and on track.
  • Manage project financials proactively — monitoring actuals vs. planned expenditure, maintaining the Finance Report weekly, producing variance reports, and flagging commercial risks to the Account Director early.
  • Build and maintain C-level client relationships, acting as the primary escalation point for complex queries and complaints and ensuring a consistently positive client experience.
  • Contribute to pre-sale activity — supporting the production of proposals and Statements of Work, providing planning support, and contributing to quotes that reflect delivery requirements accurately.
  • Govern project compliance through regular RAID Log reviews, internal RAID management, and ensuring all delivery documentation meets quality standards.
  • Articulate the value of Mando Group’s services to clients and internal stakeholders, using your knowledge of technology and digital platforms to inform advisory conversations and shape opportunities.

Essential skills:

Core skills

  • Strong client-facing communication skills including influencing, crisis management, and stakeholder management at all levels.
  • Data-driven decision making - uses risk analysis, variance data, and analytical thinking to make informed calls.
  • Commercially aware - understands profit, margin, EAC, T&M vs. fixed resource models, and how to apply financial concepts to project decisions.
  • Cross-functional collaboration - facilitates delivery across development, test, UX, and product teams, and takes initiative to drive improvement.
  • Calm under pressure - maintains composure and increases tempo at project pinch points without compromising quality.

Technical skills

  • Advanced Jira - custom workflows, JQL, epics, story mapping, dashboards, and sprint configuration.
  • Advanced Tempo - time tracking, billable hours management, approval processes, and capacity analysis.
  • Advanced Confluence - permissions management, space organisation, template governance, and Jira integration.
  • Intermediate to advanced Office 365 - Excel for financial modelling and data analysis, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project for Gantt planning.
  • Solid understanding of both Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies, and the ability to manage multiple projects and budgets concurrently using each.

Qualifications & certifications

PRINCE2, Scrum Master or equivalent project management qualification.

Bonus skills:

  • Experience working with DXP platforms such as Optimizely.
  • Familiarity with Tempo Planner for resource capacity management across a multi-project portfolio.
  • Experience contributing to or shaping PMO-level processes, templates, or methodology development.
  • AI literacy - comfortable using tools such as Claude, to improve productivity and delivery quality.

Benefits

  • Flexible working - You work a 7.5 hour day, with the flexibility to decide your own start, finish and break times.
  • Competitive package - 25 days of holiday increasing with length of service, plus bank holidays and the option to buy/sell holidays.
  • Health and wellbeing - Private health insurance with access to a full suite of medical, dental and wider wellbeing benefits.
  • Comprehensive training - Structured onboarding process and ongoing professional development programme.
  • Environmental benefits - Cycle-to-work scheme and Electric Vehicle Salary Sacrifice Scheme.
  • Inclusion and diversity - We celebrate equality and diversity and strive to provide an environment where everyone can thrive.
