We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to play a critical role in maintaining and evolving the infrastructure that supports one of Europe’s leading online off-price retailers. The Role Scope As Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will operate as a senior technical authority within Tech Operations. Your focus will be on ensuring our infrastructure remains secure, scalable and high-performing, while driving forward modernisation initiatives aligned to our architecture roadmap. You’ll collaborate closely with the Infrastructure Team Lead, Head of Tech Operations and wider technology stakeholders, acting as a senior escalation point and contributing to best-in-class infrastructure standards across the business.
Role Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the definition of infrastructure principles and technical standards
- Ensure solutions align to architectural direction and long-term scalability
- Evaluate emerging technologies to support future capability
- Lead or contribute to enterprise-scale infrastructure projects
- Design and implement secure, resilient solutions
- Drive documentation and best practice across the environment
- Support ongoing infrastructure transformation initiatives
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex 2nd/3rd line issues
- Support network, server, identity and virtualisation environments
- Maintain system performance, availability and security
- Participate in an on‑call rota
- Mentor and support junior engineers
- Promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
- Create alignment across technical stakeholders
About You:
- Firewall expertise and core routing/switching (Junos Cli, Juniper, OSPF, BGP, VLANs)
- Windows Server & End User Computing
- Identity & Access Management (AD, Entra and Okta)
- Virtualisation (VMware & GCP)
- EDM/MDM (Intune, SCCM and IRU)
- Backup solutions (VMware backup products eg. Veeam, IDPA)
- PowerShell scripting and API experience
- Strong understanding of IT best practice
- Driving license required
- Terraform, Linux administration, Hyperconverged Infrastructure, Cisco Meraki, Google Workspace
