The OpportunityWe are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our distribution centre at an exciting time for MandM Direct. This is a handsâon leadership role, supporting the Operations Manager to deliver operational excellence across our Outbound department. While driving performance, developing employees and ensuring service levels and commercial targets are consistently achieved.
This role offers real responsibility, visibility and influence within a fastâpaced logistics environment, along with the chance to build capability and leave a lasting impact. It is ideal for a confident operational leader who enjoys driving results.

The Role Scope
Lead and support the dayâtoâday operational performance of the Outbound function, ensuring KPI\âs, service levels and budgeted costs are achieved
Effectively manage labour, equipment and resource to deliver shift and departmental targets
Drive performance across all outbound activities through coaching, feedback and handsâon leadership
Ensure accurate and timely inventory movement through the goodsâout operation
Own the procurement of consumables and maintain control of carrier assets
Manage performance, capability and sickness in line with company procedures
Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture
Ensure adequate investigations and reporting of all accidents and near misses by MandM employees, agency workers and contractors in accordance with company policy and training
Supporting and managing the team in line with all relevant company policies, procedures and legislative requirements
Represent the department in internal and external meetings as required
Ensure safe site practices at all times are adhered to and processes followed
About You
Proven experience in a managerial role managing large teams (100+) within an operational environment
Experience managing formal performance management processes
Strong financial and commercial awareness, excellent organisational skills with the ability to balance competing priorities
