I am seeking a Garment Technologist to join a lovely fashion supplier in Berkshire! Our client, a leading supplier of high-quality Childrenswear, is seeking a proactive and experienced Garment Technologist to join their dynamic team. Specific Childrenswear experience is not required for this role, just the ability to take a proactive approach to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with designers and manufacturers to ensure designs are technically feasible, cost-effective, and high-quality.
  • Conduct fabric tests to meet industry standards and regional regulations (e.g., REACH, fibre composition, product safety). Manage risk, testing, and resolve non-compliance issues.
  • Conduct fit sessions, assess construction, and provide detailed feedback for improvements.
  • Maintain accurate specifications, patterns, measurements, and production guidelines for suppliers.
  • Ensure garments meet specifications and quality standards throughout the production process.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding garment construction, materials, and quality, offering technical support.
  • Inspect final garments to ensure they meet brand standards, conducting pre-shipment quality checks.
  • Work closely with internal and external teams to solve technical challenges and ensure smooth production processes.

Who You Are:

  • Multi-product expertise and experience working directly with factories.
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabric technology, and testing.
  • Pattern-cutting knowledge and familiarity with grading are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.
  • Confident in using Outlook, Excel, and Word with a willingness to expand technical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
