This is a varied, hands-on role combining field sales, estimation, customer service and technical installation, ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with customers and delivering high-quality results.
The Role
As a Sales Estimator & Installer, you will visit customers in their homes or commercial premises to assess requirements, provide accurate quotations, sell additional services and carry out installations to the highest standard. You will play a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction while working closely with colleagues across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit customer sites to assess jobs and provide accurate pricing and estimates
- Actively sell additional products and services (including add-ons and upgrades)
- Explain company guarantees, risk policies and terms clearly
- Obtain written customer approval where required
- Handle customer queries, claims and adjustments professionally
- Maintain excellent customer relationships and service standards
Installation & Technical Duties
- Deliver and/or install all goods to company standards
- Identify fabric types and recommend appropriate cleaning or treatment methods
- Identify stains, damage or risks and clearly communicate these to customers
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of all products and services
- Maintain van, tools, equipment and uniform in excellent condition
- Assist with training new employees when required
Administration & Compliance
- Accurately complete daily paperwork, invoices and route schedules
- Follow check-in and check-out procedures
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, vehicle and equipment legislation
- Attend sales meetings and training sessions as required
- Maintain punctuality, attendance and professional presentation at all times
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in sales, estimation, installation or field-based customer service
- Industry experience (e.g. dry cleaning, carpet cleaning or similar) advantageous
- Outside or field sales experience beneficial
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic maths and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while being a strong team player
- Professional, well-presented and customer-focused approach
