Sales Estimator & Installer – Curtains & Blinds

Location: North West London

Full-Time | Field-Based / Customer-Facing

We are looking for an experienced Curtain Fitter / Blind Fitter / Window Furnishings Installer to join an established and highly regarded business based in North West London as a Sales Estimator & Installer. Previous hands-on experience fitting curtains and/or blinds is a key requirement for this position.

If you've worked installing made-to-measure curtains, blinds, curtain tracks, poles or other window treatments, we'd particularly like to hear from you. Offering a salary of circa £40,000, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fitter who wants to broaden their career into a more varied position encompassing surveying, measuring, estimating, customer service and sales, while still remaining hands-on with installations.

You'll visit customers in their homes and commercial premises, assess their requirements, accurately measure and survey, provide quotations and ultimately deliver and install products to an exceptional standard.

The Role

  • Visiting customers across London and the surrounding area in their homes and commercial premises.
  • Measuring and surveying windows accurately for curtains, blinds and associated window furnishings.
  • Providing expert advice on curtains, blinds, tracks, poles, fittings and installation requirements.
  • Assessing each job and producing accurate estimates and quotations.
  • Installing curtains and blinds to a consistently high professional standard.
  • Fitting curtain tracks, curtain poles, blinds and associated fixtures and fittings.
  • Assessing different walls, windows, fixing surfaces and installation requirements.
  • Identifying potential installation challenges before work commences.
  • Delivering and installing customer goods safely and professionally.
  • Identifying opportunities to sell additional curtains, blinds, window treatments and related products and services.
  • Explaining products, services, guarantees and relevant policies clearly to customers.
  • Handling customer questions, concerns and adjustments professionally.
  • Managing your daily appointments and schedule to provide a reliable and punctual service.
  • Completing quotations, invoices and supporting paperwork accurately.
  • Maintaining your company vehicle, tools and installation equipment to a high standard.
  • Working closely with colleagues across sales, operations and customer service to deliver an excellent end-to-end customer experience.

Curtain & Blind Fitting Experience Is Essential

We are specifically looking for candidates with previous professional curtain and/or blind fitting experience. This isn't a position where you'll be taught curtain and blind installation from scratch. You'll already have the practical skills and technical knowledge required to confidently undertake installations in customers' homes.

Your current or previous job title might include: Curtain Fitter, Blind Fitter, Curtain Installer, Blind Installer, Curtains & Blinds Installer, Window Treatment Installer, Window Furnishings Installer, Soft Furnishings Installer, Made-to-Measure Installer, Curtain & Blind Surveyor, Fitter / Surveyor, Estimator / Installer, Window Furnishings Fitter.

Your experience could have been gained with a curtain and blind retailer, independent window furnishings company, interior design business, soft furnishings specialist, made-to-measure curtain company or home installation business.

You'll ideally have experience installing some or all of the following: Made-to-measure curtains, Roller blinds, Roman blinds, Venetian blinds, Vertical blinds, Curtain tracks, Curtain poles, Window treatments, Soft furnishings, Associated brackets, fixings and installation hardware. Experience measuring, surveying and estimating for curtains and blinds would be particularly advantageous.

About You

Alongside your curtain fitting and/or blind fitting experience, you'll need to be comfortable working directly with customers in their homes. We're looking for someone who:

  • Has proven professional experience fitting curtains and/or blinds.
  • Is confident measuring, surveying and assessing windows prior to installation.
  • Has strong practical and technical installation skills.
  • Can confidently and safely use appropriate hand and power tools.
  • Understands different fixing methods, wall types, surfaces and installation requirements.
  • Has excellent attention to detail and takes genuine pride in the quality of their installations.
  • Is comfortable visiting customers in their homes and providing a professional service.
  • Has excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Can accurately calculate measurements, quantities and prices.
  • Is commercially minded and comfortable discussing additional products and services with customers.
  • Can manage appointments and organise their own workload effectively.
  • Is reliable, punctual, professional and presentable.
  • Enjoys working independently while remaining part of a wider team.

Previous experience within sales, estimating, surveying, interiors, soft furnishings, window furnishings or premium home services would be advantageous.
