Oversee end-to-end trade desk operations, including execution, allocation, settlement, and reconciliation across equities, fixed income, FX, and derivatives.

Execute single and block equity trades across multiple institutional managed accounts.

Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Operations, and Compliance teams.

Manage trade reporting, allocations, and reconciliations to maintain accurate portfolio records.

Deep working knowledge of prime brokerage relationships and collateral management processes.

Monitor portfolio cash levels to ensure sufficient liquidity for current and forward investment needs.

Manage capital calls, collateral positions, and cash movements across custodial and prime brokerage accounts.

Administer trade desk infrastructure, including OMS/EMS integrations, counterparty connectivity and data transmissions.

Support the operational launch and ongoing management of new fund products.

Develop and maintain proprietary VBA/Excel tools.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for Portfolio Management, Financial Reporting, and Compliance teams.

Assist with fund audits and regulatory filings.

Communicate with internal stakeholders, brokers, vendors, and external partners.

Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members across trade operations.

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Attention to detail, organizational discipline, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and VBA (automation, data management, macros).
  • Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and multi-asset workflows.
  • Experience with Order and Execution Management Systems (OMS/EMS): LSEG AlphaDesk, Instinet Newport (multi-asset), FXall (FX trading), TWS (Trader Workstation).
  • Knowledge of prime brokerage operations and workflows.

Education

  • Master’s Degree or Equivalent would be considered an asset.
  • Bachelor’s Degree/College Diploma.
  • Canadian Securities Course.
  • Trader Training Course.
  • Conduct and Practices Handbook.

Work Experience

3 – 5 years of related experience at a mutual fund company, dealership or brokerage firm in progressively increasing levels of responsibility.

The base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000. In addition, we provide a discretionary performance bonus, group health benefit plan, RSP matching, on-site free underground parking, as well as social and wellness events.
