My client is a full-service law firm. The Private Client Department is now pretty large across London, Milton Keynes, and Northampton and works for HNW and UHNW families.

They are seeking a private client solicitor to work primarily at Milton Keynes and Northampton.

The partners and consultants are familiar with working with estates in the £50-100m+ range.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

We’re looking for a candidate that is hard-working, outgoing, and a good team player with experience in a city or medium/large provincial practice. The Private Client team complements the firm’s commercial legal services by providing a complete solution to the firm’s clientele, who consist primarily of entrepreneurs, including company directors/shareholders. It is essential that the candidate has high net worth experience.

KEY KNOWLEDGE AREAS

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  1. Dealing with HNW clients and handling complex Tax Planning, Wills, and Wealth Protection issues
  2. Lasting powers of attorney, Trusts, Trust Corporations, and Family Investment Companies
  3. High Value Probates, including foreign elements and experience of claiming BPR and APR
  4. Key knowledge of tax and Inheritance tax planning

KEY SKILLS:

  1. Sound private client legal knowledge, drafting skills, and experience with a recognized private practice
  2. A strong ability to lead and manage teams
  3. Commercial, practical, and financial awareness
  4. Confidence and ability to communicate at senior levels
  5. Excellent academics and strong ambition for career development
  6. Excellent interpersonal and marketing skills with the ability to develop contacts for the team and the firm
  7. Team player able to fit into a friendly, busy office
  8. Negotiation skills
  9. Organizational ability

DESIRABLE:

Due to the nature of the work undertaken, it would be desirable to demonstrate experience in the following:
