Role Overview: We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Environmental Engineer role in a Shanghai-based automotive company.

Responsibilities: Along with Vehicle Engineering, the primary responsibilities for this post will be the creation and administration of vehicle environmental performance, extended to forbidden chemicals, VIAQ, carbon emissions and so on.

Qualifications:

  • Language ability: Native English, ideally Chinese
  • Computer competency with MS Office, MS Project, and so on
  • A master’s degree or higher in Materials, Engineering, or related sciences, with a focus on sustainability and energy (Master in ELV/RRR, REACH, PoPs etc.), Master in CAMDS/IMDS and the process, mastery of LCA approach, including ISO, PAS, and tools such as GaBi/Simapro
  • 5+ years of work exposure desired, preferably at an automotive OEM
  • Common product sustainability ideas and trends well-understood
  • Have genuine LCA experience on three or more models
  • Familiarity with the VDA test procedure for vehicle indoor air quality
  • Good written, analytical, and presenting abilities, and interaction skills
  • Basic understanding of car engineering, manufacturing processes, and so forth

Additional Requirements: The organization reports to the UK advanced vehicle engineering team and collaborates with the SH global environmental team on a regular basis. Since the EU is currently working on UNECE standards, the effort in the EU may cover the entire world. Accept foreign travel as necessary, inside the EU, the EU/SH, or internationally if required.
