We have an exciting opportunity for a CAE Engineer – Mechanical Engineering at a Renewable Energy Semiconductor Manufacturing company based in Horsham. The firm is a top‑tier engineering and fuel cell technology organization, creating next‑generation, low‑cost fuel cells. The primary goal of this role is the development and optimisation of stack and system designs using CAE methods. The position requires a deep understanding of fuel cell technology principles and the application of CFD, Flow, and Thermal modelling and simulations to inform well‑grounded decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimise stack and system designs using CAE methods.
  • Conduct CFD/Flow and thermal modelling simulations.
  • Perform meshing, define boundary conditions, optimise solutions and interpret results.
  • Use multiple CAE software to meet project analysis needs.
  • Collaborate with design teams to deliver data‑driven analytical outcomes.
  • Ensure simulation outcomes are compared with design specifications and optimised within hardware constraints.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering degree (Bachelor, Master or Ph.D.).
  • Strong manual mathematical and Excel analytical skills.
  • Experience in CAE analysis, particularly CFD, Flow, Thermodynamics and Multiphysics.
  • Proficiency with CAE tools such as ANSYS Fluent and/or COMSOL is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage time, meet high expectations and work under pressure.
  • Understanding of the CAE modelling lifecycle: from business needs to fit‑for‑purpose analysis.
  • Solid problem‑solving skills using fact‑based decision procedures such as DOE.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Interest in electrochemical applications such as fuel cells, batteries or electrolysers.
  • Preference for Cantonese and Mandarin proficiency.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
