We have an interesting opportunity for a Big Data Engineer role with a UK-based e-gaming company. A well-established e-gaming company is searching for a Big Data Engineer with excellent Hadoop and Amazon Web Services experience (Amazon SQL and NoSQL services ideal) to join the UK office.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience administering, tuning, and debugging Apache Hadoop data warehouse installations (HDFS, Hue and related technologies).
- Familiar with automation configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or similar.
- Extensive knowledge of SQL and MySQL (NoSQL experience is advantageous, too, since we also use Redis & Cassandra technologies).
- Strong background in MySQL technology as well as data integration and data pipelines.
- Familiarity with a wide range of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is required).
- Understanding of best practices and IT operations in a service that is always on and always available.
- Strong history in Linux/Unix administration and overall DevOps responsibilities.
- Some knowledge of programming and scripting (PHP, Python, Perl, and/or Ruby).
