Mandarin Oriental is looking for a Global Social Media Manager (Maternity Cover) to join our Brand team. Mandarin Oriental is the award‑winning owner and operator of some of the most luxurious hotels, resorts and residences located in prime destinations around the world, with a strong development pipeline. About The Job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Corporate Office in Holborn, London, the Global Social Media Manager plays a key role within the Brand & Reputation team, supporting the execution of the Group’s global social media strategy. This role is responsible for overseeing Mandarin Oriental’s corporate social media presence, ensuring brand consistency and best‑in‑class execution across all platforms, while providing strategic guidance and alignment for hotel‑level social media activity worldwide. Working closely with internal stakeholders, hotels, and external agency partners, this position combines strategic oversight with hands‑on delivery to drive brand affinity, engagement, and measurable business impact.
Responsibilities
- Global Social Media Strategy & Hotel Alignment
- Supporting and executing the global social media strategy defined by the Group to drive brand awareness, engagement, and conversion where applicable.
- Managing Mandarin Oriental’s corporate social media channels and social media business portfolio, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely onboarding of new hotel and group‑level accounts.
- Providing brand‑led guidance to hotels and regional teams to ensure alignment with global social media standards and brand tone of voice.
- Managing the global social media agency and overseeing the timely and high‑quality delivery of all social media projects.
- Acting as a key liaison between Corporate and hotel marketing teams, sharing best practices, training, and guidance to ensure global consistency and knowledge‑sharing.
- Content Creation & Social‑First Storytelling
- Managing global social content production through detailed and creative briefs.
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of the global social content calendar, integrating brand campaigns, hotel moments, partnerships, and guest experiences.
- Collaborating with creative teams, hotels, and partners to deliver visually compelling, brand‑aligned content.
- Identifying opportunities for real‑time engagement by leveraging cultural moments and industry trends, while balancing commercial priorities.
- Social Media Performance & Reporting
- Applying a data‑driven approach to content planning using insights from social listening, analytics, and reporting tools.
- Managing the development of reporting frameworks for corporate and hotel social channels, tracking KPIs such as engagement, reach, sentiment, and conversion impact.
- Recommending strategic optimisations to enhance performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Hotel Social Media Oversight & Best Practices
- Supporting the Global Social Media Director in delivering ongoing training, resources, and guidance to hotel teams.
- Assisting in the creation of toolkits, playbooks, and content guidelines to help hotels produce high‑performing, brand‑aligned social content.
- Facilitating regular knowledge‑sharing sessions to keep hotel social teams informed of global initiatives, trends, and creative best practices.
- Project Management
- Managing and aligning social media projects in collaboration with the wider Brand & Reputation team.
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time, on brief, and in line with broader brand and business priorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Hospitality, or a related discipline.
- Strong experience in social media management within a global, brand‑led or luxury environment.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to influence across multiple stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of social‑first storytelling and brand positioning across major social platforms.
- Strong data‑driven mindset, with experience interpreting social analytics, performance metrics, and insights.
- Proven ability to manage agencies, creative partners, and cross‑functional teams effectively.
- Highly organised with strong project management skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise multiple projects in a fast‑paced, global environment.
- Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with a collaborative and hands‑on approach.
