About the Job

Based at the Corporate Office in London, within the Commercial function, the Director, Global Sales plays a key role in driving revenue growth across the global portfolio. The role focuses on strategic account management, business development, and the implementation of a well‑defined sales strategy in line with Mandarin Oriental objectives and targets. Acting as a key commercial partner, this position supports hotels and corporate teams in maximising revenue opportunities and strengthening client relationships across key markets.

The Director, Global Sales operates with a strong commercial mindset, deep market knowledge, and a results‑driven approach, enabling both senior leadership and hotel teams to enhance performance through targeted sales initiatives, data‑driven insights, and effective client engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Account Management & Business Development: Manage a portfolio of top accounts in line with the regional account list, evaluating and executing key account plans to drive revenue growth. Deliver against the Sales Incentive Plan (KPIs) in alignment with Global Sales strategy, including annual account reviews, proactive client engagement, and targeted prospecting. Proactively drive Group business across the existing client base and wider market, identifying opportunities for incremental revenue growth. Actively manage and grow market share within the Fan Club portfolio and support programme development.
  • Client Engagement & Sales Strategy: Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding business needs and aligning solutions to drive engagement and bookings. Leverage sales strategies, tools, and systems to maximise account performance and conversion. Plan, manage, and participate in regional and global sales events, including client engagement initiatives and educational programmes.
  • Hotel & Corporate Collaboration: Strategically support hotels through participation in performance calls, internal business reviews, and regional revenue/sales meetings. Maintain strong working relationships with all Mandarin Oriental hotels and Head Office teams to ensure alignment and effective collaboration. Ensure timely, informative responses to enquiries, quality lead generation, and thorough qualification of accounts.
  • Market Intelligence & Performance Analysis: Monitor and report on market trends, competitor activities, and client feedback to support strategic decision‑making. Analyse and interpret data from tools such as Hotelligence/Agency360, STR, and Power BI to track performance and identify growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Hotel Management, Business Administration, or Marketing.
  • 7+ years’ experience in hotels, travel trade, or a similar fast‑paced industry, with Global Sales experience considered an asset.
  • Strong expertise in the UK travel market.
  • Proven track record of delivering against ambitious revenue and growth targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and grow key accounts and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and support decision‑making.
  • Highly adaptable, with the ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are advantageous.
