As a Refrigerator Engineer at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, we expect from you:
- To be responsible for retrieving and completing work orders as per policies and procedures.
- To be responsible for returning all work order forms to the designated return box prior to ending the shift.
- To be responsible for reporting any discrepancies, unsolved problems and newly observed engineering problems to the supervisor as soon as possible.
- To be responsible for obtaining all necessary information, documentation and instruction to ensure that effective, efficient work may be performed.
- To be responsible for returning all unused (new and old) parts to the engineering store or to the Shift Engineer.
As a Refrigerator Engineer, you will be working on a rotating shift basis, Monday to Sunday, 39 hours a week. Shift patterns will vary (including weekends and bank holidays), so flexibility is required where applicable.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Level 2 NVQ/Diploma in Refrigeration, Air-Conditioning and Heat Pump (RACHP) Systems or equivalent vocational qualification.
- F-Gas Certification (Category 1) – legally required for working on systems containing fluorinated refrigerants.
- Proven hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration or HVAC equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across mechanical and basic electrical systems.
- Ability to follow health & safety procedures and maintain compliance with environmental regulations.
