As an Accounting Manager at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, we expect from you:

  • To support the Finance Controller and Director of Finance in the effective and efficient operation of the Finance Department.
  • To manage the day‑to‑day activities of the Finance team, ensuring continuity of operations, appropriate coverage and adherence to MOHG policies and procedures.
  • To ensure appropriate cross‑training within the Finance team to cover all key functions during absence or periods of change.
  • To oversee the month‑end close process, ensuring all journals, accruals and adjustments are completed accurately and within Group timelines.
  • To prepare and complete balance sheet reconciliations for review, ensuring integrity, timely clearance of reconciling items and robust audit support.
  • To review month‑end financial results, investigating variances and providing explanations to the Finance Controller and Director of Finance.
  • To assist with monthly forecasting and the annual budget process.
  • To ensure compliance with MOHG Finance Policies & Procedures, Internal Audit requirements and local SOPs.
  • To assist with the preparation and submission of all Head Office requested reports and statistics in line with Group timelines.

Shared Services & Transformation Responsibilities:

  • To act as the primary hotel contact point for Shared Services (JSC) covering Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Audit and General Ledger.
  • To support and coordinate Shared Services transition activities, including local scoping, knowledge transfer, simulation, ramp‑up and post go‑live stabilisation.
  • To review and validate work performed by Shared Services, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with agreed SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
  • To coordinate and resolve operational issues, exceptions and escalations between the hotel and Shared Services.
  • To ensure ongoing collaboration with Shared Services following go‑live, embedding a stable business‑as‑usual operating model.

As an Accounting Manager, you will be in an office‑based role, working predominantly from Monday to Friday. To be a successful Accounting Manager candidate, you will have previous experience within a similar role in a luxury hospitality environment, strong attention to detail, be extremely organised, proactive, reliable and collaborative in your approach.
