About the job
The position is established to develop reporting and provide insight on rooms revenue performance trends (including but not limited to segmentation, pace, channel, day of week, country of residence), and the drivers of those trends with a strong link to market share performance. Works closely with VP of Revenues to support actionable recommendations and responses to optimize performance and drive growth and profitability.
The role is to support the Corporate Revenue division, not hotel support.
As a Corporate Revenue Business Insights Analyst, you will be responsible for:
Global Analysis – 60%
- Identifies and understands issues, problems, and opportunities; obtains and compares information from different sources to draw conclusions, develops and evaluates alternatives and solutions, solves problems, and recommends a course of action.
- Supports the VP’s Revenue with analysis of global campaigns and packages to determine need for changes or additions.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for business performance insights for colleagues in Regional & Corporate Team.
- Support the VP Revenues in providing analytical support for ad hoc requests as required and assist in choosing the best solution and solving problems.
Weekly & Monthly Reporting – 40%
- Supports analysis of performance and trends for weekly business outlook to senior management.
- Provide insights on the weekly market share results to share with Regional Revenue leads.
- Provide insights on the monthly month end reporting (production, COR, Room types) to share with Regional Revenue leads.
- Contributes to a monthly & quarterly Revenue KPI report focused on performance analysis and trends, to be shared with senior management.
Performs other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor to meet operational and/or other requirements.
- Provides analytical support for ad hoc requests from senior management.
- Provides insights on where hotels are adapting their monthly forecasts for Regional Revenue leaders to then validate.
- Analyses trends to answer business questions from senior management.
- Provides subject matter expertise as part of a larger team of Revenue Management Global Pricing to maximize deliverables to key stakeholders.
- Share best practices across all continents.
- Contributes knowledge to fill in the \”gaps\” not covered by current above property tools or systems.
As a Corporate Revenue Business Insights Analyst, weexpectfrom you:
Education:
- Hospitality education preferred or Bachelor studies in finance, revenue and/or analytics.
Experience:
- Successfully held a Revenue Manager or revenue analyst position for at least 2 years in a hotel.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Understands and utilizes business information to manage everyday operations and generate innovative solutions to approach business and administrative challenges.
- Extremely detail oriented and focused
- Sets high standards of performance for self and/or others; assumes responsibility for work objectives; initiates, focuses, and monitors the efforts of self and/or others toward the accomplishment goals; proactively takes action and goes beyond what is required.
- Strong deductive analysis (Interpreting numeric information within the context of business problems)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including querying and manipulation of large quantities of data using applications such as MS Excel & Tableau (pivot tables, modeling, etc.) and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of Revenue Management principles and practices.
- Familiarity with industry-standard revenue management systems (e.g., SynXis, Delphi, Hyperion, IDeaS G3, TravelClick, IDeaS, STR, etc…)
- Demonstrated ability in handling large data sets and databases.
- Demonstrated ability to present data using visualization, metrics, and reports to support data-driven decisions.
- Good analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving ability, with experience in solving “real-life” business problems.
- Ability to take large volumes of complex information and present it a clear, concise, and complete manner which facilitates executive decision making.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and proven ability to handle multi-task assignments.
- Able to expand knowledge through self-paced learning and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge.
- Ability to adapt to evolving technological initiatives, industry advancements, and changes in revenue management systems.
- Language Requirements: proficiency in English is required (speaking, reading, and writing) additional language proficiency may be beneficial, especially in an international hospitality setting.
