Due to growth, Patersons, part of the Manchetts Group in Newmarket is looking for full-time, experienced MET Technician to join their team. This is a hands-on role suited to a skilled MET with solid experience in stripping and refitting accident-damaged vehicles. The successful candidate will be responsible for dismantling and rebuilding vehicles to manufacturer standards, ensuring all repairs are completed efficiently and to a high quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Strip and refit mechanical and electrical components
- Removal and replacement of panels, trims and interiors
- Identify additional damage during dismantling
- Prepare vehicles for paint and panel repair
- Reassemble vehicles following manufacturer guidelines
- Work efficiently to meet productivity targets
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and safety
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician (MET) / Strip & Fit Technician
- Experience working in a bodyshop environment
- Strong knowledge of modern vehicle mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good time management and attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence (required)
Your responsibilities will include:
- Servicing and repairing vehicles in accordance with the manufacturer’s and industry guidelines and times
- Detect and diagnose faults using computer technology and your own mechanical knowledge
- Maintaining air conditioning systems
- Completing all paperwork accurately
- Working responsibly with Health and Safety in mind.

Terms and Conditions:
- Salary negotiable, according to experience
- Monday – Friday 40 hours
- 31 days of annual leave (inclusive), 33 days after 5 years of service
