The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

As the first‑line contact and departmental liaison with Clinical Engineering and related stakeholders, you will provide expert support in the acquisition, management, and oversight of medical equipment. You will lead on capital equipment procurement and prepare business cases to support rolling replacement programmes, focusing on maintaining the Capital Asset Register and ensuring equipment upkeep within designated areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as primary contact for multidisciplinary teams regarding equipment queries, managing interactions with external representatives and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate hiring, repair, and operational control of all equipment and materials, and implement GS1 coding for full asset traceability.
  • Use the Federated Data Platform (FDP) to manage loan kits, schedule planned clinical cases, and maintain lifecycle data.
  • Lead capital equipment procurement, prepare business cases, and support replacement programmes.
  • Maintain accurate capital asset register, support decommissioning of obsolete equipment, and keep asset records current.
  • Organise equipment trials, gather staff feedback, assess suitability, and provide training for safe usage.
  • Prioritise and communicate medical alerts promptly; support sustainability goals, audits and inspections, including CQC readiness.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Sound knowledge of peri‑operative and medical/surgical environments.
  • Experience in clinical settings and with medical equipment.
  • Experience with equipment replacement programmes and procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with the Federated Data Platform (FDP) and GS1 coding preferred.
