Ward J6 at North Manchester General Hospital is looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Housekeeper to join our team. This is a full-time position to support the department with housekeeping duties. The post holder will work from Monday to Friday (no weekends, no bank holidays).

We are seeking a person who is keen to work with our team, possesses good communication and organizational skills, and can ensure the smooth running of the unit. The post holder will work as an integral part of the team to uphold high standards on the unit.

As a Housekeeper, you will lead ward services such as catering, cleaning, equipment, and supplies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Talking to and reassuring patients
  2. Ordering non-clinical supplies
  3. Keeping the unit clean, tidy, and organized
  4. Preparing snacks and drinks
  5. Reporting faults and expiration dates of equipment
  6. Clerical and administrative tasks

We are looking for a motivated and committed Housekeeper to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This pivotal role involves working closely with nursing and domestic staff to ensure a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment.

You will be responsible for ensuring all medical equipment is clean and well-maintained, ordering supplies, and assisting with patient feedback collection using tools like the What Matters To Me tracker and the Friends and Family Test. The role also involves supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives.

You should be able to empathize with patients, be organized, positive, and able to work under pressure. Excellent communication and team skills are essential.
