We are Manchester Local Care Organisation - a public sector organisation bringing together NHS community health services and social care services in Manchester. We’re driven by the aim of improving the health of local people in Manchester by working across organisational boundaries. Our community healthcare teams in adults and children's services are employed by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and deployed to us, linking closely with our colleagues in Manchester Local Care Organisation. Our teams work as one, and together we aim to make a massive difference to the health of people in Manchester.
Main duties of the job:
- Applications are welcome from experienced qualified health visitors who are proactive and enthusiastic with excellent communication.
- This is a full-time opportunity, the working hours are 37.5 hours/week.
- The role will be based in the South Manchester locality.
- You will need to be motivated and forward-thinking, demonstrate a positive attitude, be flexible, and able to support the Heads of Service in driving forward the development and high-quality delivery of the Healthy Child Programme.
- You must be aware of contemporary policy documents relating to the development of Children’s Services and the Public Health Agenda.
- Willingness and ability to contribute to, and lead changes within children’s services are essential to the role, as are skills in team management and development, and a commitment to working innovatively with other children’s service colleagues.
- You must be able to work using your own initiative and be computer literate.
- All applicants must be able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes.
- The successful applicant will primarily work within one team but may at times be required to work at other locations to ensure equitable service delivery.
- Core service hours are Monday-Friday 08.00 – 18.00.

- Education & Qualifications: RGN First Level Degree: Specialist Community Public Health Nursing - HV (SCHPN- HV) Knowledge of specialist public health acquired through relevant degree plus additional experience to master’s degree or equivalent Management Qualification/Masters Degree
