There is an opportunity for a GMC registered General Practitioner with experience in Dermatology to join our large, diverse clinical workforce working across Wythenshawe, Trafford, Withington and Altrincham Hospitals, part of the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) group of hospitals.
Applications will be considered from post holders looking to work 1-2 days (2-4 clinical sessions) within the service. Post-holders must be able to work one of these days at Altrincham General Hospital as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing outpatient consultations and skin surgery on the same day at our One Stop hub.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities and expectations of the role:
- Provide treatment clinics and/or outpatient procedures for patients referred to the department on a high suspicion of cancer pathway at the departments One Stop Hub (Altrincham General Hospital), under supervision of a consultant dermatologist.
- Provide general dermatology outpatient clinics, agreeing a management plan with the patient and ensuring details are fed back to the GP.
- Prescribe medication or provide prescribing advice.
- Ensure prescribing is cost effective and evidence based, and in line with NICE guidance.
- Onward to refer to appropriate services for further management.
