The Purpose:
The Event Sales Executive will play a critical role in generating new business for Manchester United\'s event spaces by identifying leads, developing relationships, and converting opportunities into sales. This role requires a strong understanding of the local and regional events market, and a relentless drive to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
The Role:
- Work as a team to deliver and exceed the annual event sales targets.
- Capture all enquiries, ensuring information is available for conversion rate reports.
- Capture all costs and ensure correct charges are applied to maintain profit margins.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Handle all sales enquiries within the sales guidelines, SOPs, and enquiry handling standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients throughout the booking process to understand and deliver client requirements, providing advice and support.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the venue and its capabilities to advise clients on logistical aspects.
- Support the VIP Experiences and United Events Manager with administrative duties related to prospective events.
- Conduct site visits and venue show rounds with prospective clients, promoting Old Trafford as a premium event venue.
- Collaborate with the Event Delivery and Operations teams to ensure smooth handovers and exceptional client service.
- Maintain knowledge of upcoming events and matches to understand the full business scope.
- Participate in training and development activities.
- Assist in collating and acting on feedback reports post-event.
Experience and Skills:
- Understanding of the Conference and Events industry.
- Knowledge of the Greater Manchester and North West commercial events market is highly desirable.
- Proven track record in proactive sales within events, hospitality, or venue-based industries.
- Experience with IT and various software packages including Ungerboeck.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High standards of personal presentation.
- Creative and strategic thinking to develop events and business opportunities.
- Strong team-building and relationship development skills.
- Ability to manage pressure and work towards targets and deadlines.
- Customer service experience in customer-focused environments.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team.
