The Senior Social Media Producer will lead and evolve Manchester United’s video‑first social media output, with a particular focus on platforms such as TikTok and Snapchat. This is a hands‑on and strategic role, combining high‑quality, fast‑turnaround video editing with oversight of content planning, production, and publishing. You will use performance data and platform insights to shape content strategy, ensuring continuous growth in engagement and reach. Working closely with the Social Media Strategy Manager, you will identify trends, scale high‑performing content, and maintain editorial excellence across all outputs. The role also involves directing and producing shoots, including player and partner content, and leading a small team in fast‑paced environments—particularly around matchdays—ensuring content is delivered to the highest standard at speed.
The Person
- Proven experience as a social media video producer / editor
- Strong expertise in TikTok and Snapchat, with working knowledge of Instagram and X
- Advanced video editing skills with the ability to deliver high‑quality content at speed
- Strong analytical and data literacy skills, with the ability to translate insights into content strategy
- Experience in content planning, scheduling, and publishing
- Production and directing experience, including shoots involving talent or partners
- Working knowledge of tools such as Photoshop and After Effects
- A strong understanding of social media trends and the ability to leverage them creatively
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, approachable style
- Confidence and decisiveness in fast‑paced environments
- A proactive mindset with the ability to suggest and implement new ideas
- Experience in sport or football (desirable but not essential)
- Experience managing or mentoring others (desirable)
