The Purpose
The Senior Kit Manager leads the end-to-end management of all apparel and equipment across Manchester United’s First Team, Academy, and Women’s Team. This role ensures that players and staff are fully prepared, professionally presented, and supported in training, travel, and matchday environments.
The Role
- Lead the procurement, preparation, and maintenance of all team kits and equipment.
- Ensure all matchday kits comply with Premier League standards and are delivered on time.
- Manage kit logistics for home, away, and international fixtures, including packing, transportation, and set-up.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock levels, and liaise with suppliers on reordering.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop assistant kit managers and support staff, fostering a culture of professionalism and excellence.
- Collaborate with the Kit Operations Lead and Head of Travel on resource planning, scheduling, and kit ordering.
- Ensure staff under your supervision are trained in club procedures, health & safety, and safeguarding protocols.
- Travel regularly with the First Team, Women’s Team, and Academy squads to fixtures and training camps.
The Person
Essential- Proven experience operating and leading in an elite sports environment (football kit management preferred).
- Strong leadership and organisational skills, with experience managing staff.
- Ability to work with young people, with a commitment to safeguarding.
- Flexible and resilient, able to work unsocial hours and weekends.
- Physically fit and comfortable with the demands of lifting, carrying, and transporting kit.
- Full, clean driving licence with experience driving transit-size vehicles.
- Eligibility to obtain a DBS certificate.
- Previous experience in a Premier League or elite football environment.
- Knowledge of Premier League kit regulations and requirements.
