The Role
The purpose is to support the Internal Reporting and Treasury team, helping to produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts and other key internal financial reports. This includes financial data (actuals and historicals, with comparisons to budget and forecast), key performance indicators, and insightful commentary. This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys diving into details, analysing actual results, and supporting the business in line with monthly reporting processes and timelines.
The Responsibilities
- Involvement in production of internal management accounts for distribution to budget holders.
- Completion of lead schedules and supporting schedules – requires efficiency and attention to detail.
- Production of monthly and quarterly internal financial reporting packs, with communication to business partners and board-level commentary.
- Monthly roll-forward and production of key schedules including commercial and broadcasting revenue recognition.
- Assist the wider reporting and treasury team with any adhoc/quarterly tasks.
- Assistance in production of monthly balance sheet file with a focus on ongoing improvement of reconciliations where necessary.
- Ensure adherence to relevant SOx related controls and processes.
- Ongoing improvement of internal reporting packs and processes where necessary.
The Person
- Industry experience (experience with management accounts helpful but not essential).
- Working towards / part qualified CIMA / ACCA.
- Strong attention to detail (including self-review).
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong reporting writing skills, specifically in relation to board-level commentary writing.
- Possess strong IT skills, specifically in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to analyse at a granular level where required to support material variances.
- Excellent planning and organisation skills.
