The Purpose

The Regulatory Services Advisor will support the Head of Regulatory Services in ensuring full regulatory compliance and effective health and safety management across all departments of the club. This role involves regular auditing, risk assessment, training coordination, and maintaining the company's HSE systems to meet legal and operational standards.

The Role

  • Ensure full implementation of all Health & Safety (H&S) legislation across the company, effectively communicating updates to relevant management and staff through appropriate channels such as presentations and company policies.
  • Provide ongoing H&S support to the club, maintaining, updating, and amending the company's H&S management system to meet all regulatory requirements.
  • Support the development and execution of risk assessments and safe operating procedures, preparing relevant documentation in line with business needs.
  • Conduct audits and inspections across all business operations, procedures, and schedules, ensuring compliance with applicable guidance and legislation.
  • Collaborate with Department Heads to assess departmental training needs, identify suitable regulatory service courses, source training providers, schedule sessions, and facilitate all relevant training, including H&S inductions for new starters.
  • Carry out HSE audits and summarize findings across various business areas, including suppliers and all club departments.
  • Assist in managing the company's chemical provision in accordance with COSHH regulations.
  • Review, initiate, and update vulnerable persons' risk assessments, ensuring compliance with current legislation.
  • Assess risk for expectant mothers as required, consulting with the Head of Regulatory Services and/or Occupational Health for recommendations.
  • Support the Head of Regulatory Services with Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessment reviews.
  • Liaise with Local Authorities and inspection bodies on HSE matters in the absence of the Head of Regulatory Services.
  • Promote and support environmental initiatives, ensuring ongoing legal compliance.
  • Champion the role of Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) in achieving business goals related to quality and customer service.
  • Investigate incidents occurring on both match days and non-match days as required.
  • Provide support during match days with all Regulatory Services responsibilities as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in maintaining standards, including supporting food safety inspections when required.
  • Assist in maintaining fire safety standards and support related inspections alongside the team.
  • Undertake additional duties as needed to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the SHE function, maintaining a flexible, responsible, and open-minded approach in a dynamic environment.

The Person

  • Level 3 qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Level 3 qualification in Environmental Management (or equivalent).
  • Experience in a busy operational environment providing H&S support and advice.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • High level of initiative whilst still being a team player.

Desirable

  • Level 3 in Food Safety and/or Fire Safety.
