The Primary Schools Officer is a key member of the Foundation’s Primary School Team, delivering the Primary Reds Programme to children aged 5–11. The role focuses on building strong, positive relationships with allocated partner primary schools and delivering a high-quality educational and personal development programme that inspires learning, promotes wellbeing, and develops essential life skills. The role works closely with schools, colleagues, and partners to ensure programmes are engaging, safe, inclusive, and aligned with the National Curriculum, Ofsted framework, and the Foundation’s strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive sessions for Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils, creating a positive and inspiring learning environment.
- Design high-quality session plans that progressively develop skills, confidence, and positive attitudes across physical literacy, leadership, enrichment, mentoring, and wider life skills.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partner primary schools, acting as the Foundation’s key point of contact.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school representatives to manage, review, and evolve programme objectives in line with strategic and contractual requirements.
- Maintain accurate registers and collect data, evidence, and case studies to demonstrate impact and meet funding requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate programme delivery to support continuous improvement.
- Uphold safeguarding, health and safety, and risk management standards, ensuring all delivery is safe, inclusive, and compliant.
- Stay informed of relevant education policy, National Curriculum, and Ofsted developments.
- Support school staff development where appropriate and ensure delivery schedules are fully covered.

Knowledge & Understanding
- Strong understanding of safeguarding best practice.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures, including risk assessments.
- Understanding of the National Curriculum and Ofsted framework (primary education).
- Knowledge of the Premier League Primary Stars Programme.
Experience
- Minimum of two years’ experience working with children and young people, ideally in a school, sporting, or charitable setting.
- Experience delivering, monitoring, and evaluating physical activity or educational programmes.
- Proven ability to engage and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for business use.
- Recognised coaching qualification (Level 2 or above).
- First Aid qualification.
- FA Safeguarding qualification.
- Strong functional skills in Mathematics and English.
- Level 2 Multi-Skills Qualification (desirable).
- Educated to degree, HND, or A-level equivalent (desirable).
- Qualified Teacher Status (desirable).
