Academy Host Family – Location: Sale, Greater Manchester or surrounding area

Our Host Family programme plays a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming environment where talented young players can thrive personally and academically while pursuing their football ambitions.
The Role
As a Manchester United Academy Host Family, you will provide a safe, supportive and nurturing home environment for young players living away from their families. Your role extends beyond accommodation – you will become an important part of a player's support network, helping them settle into daily life, maintain healthy routines and flourish during an important stage of their development.
Responsibilities
- Providing a comfortable, private furnished bedroom with storage, a desk, WiFi access and access to bathroom and laundry facilities.
- Preparing nutritious meals that support the players' health and wellbeing.
- Offering a welcoming family environment where players feel safe, valued and supported.
- Supporting players with their day-to-day wellbeing and helping them adapt to living away from home.
- Maintaining regular communication with the Academy Host Family Manager where appropriate.
- Ideally accommodating two or more players, although applications from families able to host one player are also welcomed.
Host families receive competitive financial remuneration to help cover accommodation, meals and laundry costs.
The Person
- Can provide a safe, caring and welcoming home environment.
- Have a genuine interest in supporting young people during an important stage of their development.
- Are reliable, approachable and able to offer guidance, encouragement and pastoral support.
- Have suitable accommodation that meets the Academy's hosting requirements.
- Live within a reasonable travelling distance of Carrington and Ashton-on-Mersey School, with good transport links.
- Are committed to helping young people balance the demands of elite football and education.
No previous hosting experience is required. What matters most is your ability to provide a supportive family environment where Academy players can feel at home while pursuing their ambitions.
