At Manchester United, we believe that excellence on the pitch starts with excellence off the pitch. Our team thrives in a high-performance environment, united by a shared passion for success. We aim to elevate the standard of performance through collaboration and continuous growth, creating a space where everyone can contribute their best to our common goals.

We work together at our iconic Manchester United offices, enabling connection and innovation as we look ahead to what we can achieve as a global football club. We are excited to bring in passionate people who share our vision and drive for success.

The Role

As Sales Manager, you will own and grow high-value global sponsorship revenue for one of the most recognised sports brands in the world. Operating within a small, high-performing team, you'll secure Principal and Global partnerships across technology, financial services, aviation, consumer, and emerging sectors. You will be expected to think commercially, sell emotionally, prove value analytically, and close relentlessly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive a pipeline of high-value global prospects from first contact to contract signature
  • Engage senior decision-makers, including C-suite and board-level stakeholders, aligning their objectives with Manchester United's global platform
  • Build bespoke commercial strategies that connect brand ambition, measurable ROI, and prestige
  • Develop best-in-class proposals and pitch materials, combining emotional storytelling with rigorous data and commercial logic
  • Negotiate complex, multi-year agreements alongside legal and finance teams
  • Work cross-functionally with digital, data, football, venue, marketing, and operations teams to deliver integrated partnership solutions
  • Manage strategic partner relationships at a senior level to drive renewals and incremental revenue
  • Maintain pipeline discipline, forecasting accuracy, and CRM hygiene
  • Represent the Club at global industry events, prospect meetings, and key matches
  • Lead generation support exists, but proactive sourcing, qualifying, and opening doors, including cold outreach, is required. Travel can reach 60%, often at short notice, and includes evenings, weekends, and matchdays.

The Person

  • We are looking for commercially ambitious, analytically sharp, and street-smart operators:
  • Proven track record of closing complex, high-value deals in competitive environments
  • Comfortable engaging senior executives
  • Highly analytical, able to build ROI-driven solutions
  • Strategically minded, translating a brand's business model into tailored commercial solutions
  • Exceptional communicator, persuasive, credible, and confident at every level
  • Skilled negotiator with a strong understanding of contractual risk and value
  • Resilient, thrives under pressure, and delivers against tight deadlines
  • Competitive, self-motivated, and energised by performance and results
  • Flexible to meet the demands of the role, including working evening and weekends, and able to travel at short notice

This role suits ambitious individuals ready to commit fully to winning. If performance, growth, and competing at the highest level excite you, we want to hear from you.

Our Values

  • Badge – Earn the badge, every day. Respect our history and heritage. Be best in class and deliver to the standards expected of Manchester United. No one is bigger than the club.
  • Bravery – Be bold, be brave, and take calculated risks. Do things differently and innovate. Lead by example and do what's right for the club, even when it's hard.
  • Spirit – Embody the spirit of Manchester United. Show strength of character, act with passion, and fight back, no matter what.

What We Offer

  • Annual Incentive Scheme to reward your dedication and hard work
  • 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) and an opportunity to purchase additional holiday days
  • Electric Vehicle scheme via Octopus and cycle to work scheme
  • Wellness Support with access to mental health resources, digital health checks, and nutritionists through Aviva Digicare+
  • Exclusive Discounts through our United Rewards platform, giving you access to exclusive deals from the club and partners
  • Enhanced family Leave Benefits and policies
  • Enhanced Career Development with access to professional learning platforms like LinkedIn Learning, and internal training programs
