The Role
As an Eastern European Scout, you will identify, assess, and monitor youth >U16 and senior players across Eastern Europe, supporting both long‑term talent identification and immediate First Team recruitment needs. Using live scouting, video analysis, market research, and network intelligence, you will ensure the Club maintains accurate and up‑to‑date intelligence on relevant players to support recruitment, retention, and strategic decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
- Use scouting, video, research, and local intelligence to assess relevant targets.
- Attend strategically targeted live matches across the region to evaluate youth and senior players.
- Use of video & general market analysis to filter the relevant players for MUFC.
- Produce detailed, yet concise reports explaining the strengths, weaknesses and overall predictive evaluation of the player.
- Gather and validate intelligence on player background, personality, professionalism, injury history, and market status.
- Assess player suitability, potential, readiness, and long‑term trajectory against Club benchmarks.
- Maintain and keep up to date visual shortlists for your region, and reliably track priority and emerging targets.
- Contribute to positional market overviews and benchmarking exercises.
- Build and maintain strong regional networks across clubs, agents (with collaboration), coaches, and federations.
- Act as a trusted point of contact for the Club within the region.
Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate, organised, and up‑to‑date player records within Club systems.
- Ensure reporting is timely, concise, and aligned with Club standards.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with recruitment leadership, scouts and wider Club staff.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders on player intelligence, market developments, and emerging opportunities.
- Contribute to recruitment meetings with clear assessments and recommendations.
- Coordinate strategic travel, video assessments and regional coverage in line with priorities.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, objectivity, and confidentiality.
The Person
- Proven experience in scouting across youth and/or senior professional football, with a strong track record of identifying emerging talent and players capable of performing at elite level.
- Strong understanding of player development across different age phases, with the ability to assess both current performance and long‑term potential.
- Excellent knowledge of elite football, including Premier League standards and the demands of scouting within key international territories.
- Demonstrable ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate scouting reports, combining objective analysis with informed judgement.
- Proficient in the use of scouting platforms, video analysis tools, and data management systems.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to present insights clearly and collaborate effectively across departments.
- Ability to build and maintain a strong professional network across clubs, coaches, agents, and other football stakeholders.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in all scouting activities.
- Self‑motivated and proactive, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage workload, travel, and competing priorities.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and international travel.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal); additional languages relevant to assigned territories are advantageous.
