As a Mentor, you will have the opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of our students, helping them overcome challenges and unlock their full potential. The Mentor/Youth Worker/Learning Support Assistant role: · Provide one-on-one mentoring and support to students in a community setting · Assist with academic subjects, such as English and maths, to help students progress · Develop students' social, vocational, and life skills through engaging activities · Collaborate with the wider team to ensure a holistic approach to student development · Maintain detailed records and documentation related to student progress · Participate in half-termly training and CPD. Skills and Abilities: · An empathetic and patient approach · Ability to work independently and as part of a team · Passion for creating opportunities and supporting young people · Ability to write reports in a timely manner demonstrating strong literacy skills. The ideal Mentor/Youth Worker/Learning Support Assistant: Essentials: · Experience in mentoring and / or learning support · Strong communication and interpersonal skills · Excellent English and maths abilities · Proficient in using technology and digital tools · Knowledge of safeguarding processes and procedures · A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle to travel to students' locations (with business insurance) Desirables: · 1+ years' experience working with young people in an educational, social, or sports coaching setting · Grade 4 / C or above in English and maths · Experience in youth work, teaching assistant roles, childcare, residential care, sports coaching.
