The Senior Delivery Manager is responsible for delivering multiple programmes of work and projects across defined schemes of work. The projects and programmes underpin both the Digital Strategic Plan and tactical enablement for digital change initiatives. The Senior Delivery Manager will deliver project/programme and management solutions within Digital Services leading on the design, development, management and assurance of large, complex and high-value change within a complex and large NHS acute and community Trust.

Person Specification:

  • Essential Criteria: Ability to undertake shift working including out-of-hours, weekend and Public Holidays.
  • Desirable Criteria: Ability to travel.

Qualifications:

  • Essential Criteria: Education to a minimum of Masters Degree Level or equivalent post graduate qualification or equivalent level of experience within Informatics. Prince 2 Practitioner or equivalent project management qualification. Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) Foundation or equivalent Agile qualification or equivalent qualification or learned experience.
  • Desirable Criteria: Degree Level or equivalent qualification specifically in Digital discipline. Postgraduate or equivalent diploma MSP Practitioner. Management of Risk (MoR). Management of Value (MoV).

Training:

  • Essential Criteria: Evidence of Continued Professional Development, including specialist training in areas such as: Business Case development and appraisal, Risk Management, Programme and Project Delivery methodologies (including Agile, MSP and Prince), MS Project Planning, Change Management and Control.
  • Desirable Criteria: Commercial and/or Financial Management.

Experience:

  • Essential Criteria: Significant large scale and complex implementation experience of programme and management methodologies that support significant organisational change. Significant experience of operating in a matrix management structure or working in a consultancy-like arrangement. Significant experience of managing a range of complex project and programme activities to formulate plans and strategies that have effect across multiple organisations. Significant experience in the development of large and complex business cases. Significant knowledge of applying budgeting, benefits tracking and demand management principles large scale and complex programmes and projects. Significant experience of applying programme and project controls to resolve critical gaps/issues and apply appropriate remediation/recovery across programme and projects.
  • Desirable Criteria: Experience in leading large scale and complex change projects and programmes in health and/or social care environments. Senior management experience. Significant experience of managing a range of complex project and programme activities to formulate plans and strategies that have effect across multiple organisations and health economies. An understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this on engagement.
