The Manchester Mind Advice Team are looking for confident volunteers to join the team.
We will train and support you to become a Volunteer Advice Worker and you’ll need to be available for a minimum of 4 hours per week for at least 6 months.
This is so you can complete the required training.
As a Volunteer Advice Worker, you will help clients navigate complex systems and empower them to feel more in control of their lives.
You will provide confidential and holistic advice in the areas of welfare benefits, housing and debt.
You will
- Use sensitive listening skills to explore the client’s issue(s) and help them find a way forward.
- Complete detailed case records using our confidential Case Management System.
- Be supported by the Advice Volunteer Supervisor, the Advice Service Manager and the Advice Team.
- Signpost to Manchester Mind’s other services or external services when appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality, unless a safeguarding issue presents.
- Help us to improve the service that we provide.
