Manchester Metropolitan University is looking for a passionate and experienced Executive Support Team Manager to lead one of our high‑performing Personal Assistant (PA) teams. This is an exciting opportunity to shape how executive support is delivered across the University, working at the heart of senior leadership.

About the Role

As a key leader within our Executive Support function, you will take ownership of one of five PA teams, driving a consistent, high-quality and forward‑thinking support service for senior leaders. This role goes beyond operations—you will inspire your team, influence stakeholders, and continuously evolve the service to meet the demands of a complex organisation.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and inspire a team of Personal Assistants to deliver outstanding executive support
  • Drive excellence in service delivery, ensuring consistency and professionalism
  • Manage performance, conduct, and absence in line with University policies
  • Plan and prioritise workloads to meet changing business needs
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of staff
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements

About You

You are an experienced people manager with a strong understanding of executive support and a passion for leading teams in fast‑paced environments. Proven experience managing PA or administrative teams. Expertise in performance management and employee relations. Strong understanding of supporting senior leadership. Excellent organisational, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to lead in a complex, fast‑paced environment.
