The Research Degrees Administrator will play a primary role in delivering an exceptional student experience for Manchester Met’s doctoral student community. We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to provide excellent administrative support and customer service.
As part of the Student Records team, you will provide specialist advice and guidance on research degree programmes administered by Doctoral Services. You’ll be the first point of contact for our students, academic colleagues and external stakeholders managing both day-to-day queries and monitoring compliance with our processes. You will work within your own team and across Doctoral Services to ensure a joined-up and consistent approach to student case management.
You will have experience delivering an excellent customer service in an administrative setting, preferably with an understanding of academic and postgraduate research lifecycles. You will be comfortable manipulating data and learning a range of IT systems, including Microsoft applications and enquiry management software. You will be comfortable working independently by following process guides and hitting the ground running.
This varied role will suit a highly organised and self-motivated individual, with strong verbal and written communication skills, and an ambition to join a high-functioning team to support customer service excellence.
You will be comfortable in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders even when there are obstacles.
About the Department
Research and Innovation (R&I) is a professional service Directorate with responsibility for the central management and delivery of the University’s research strategy. Made up of four departments; Research Development & Delivery, Research Environment and Impact, Doctoral Services and Business Engagement, staff work collaboratively to provide comprehensive support to faculties across the full breadth of research and business partnerships activities.
