We are looking to appoint a number of Recruitment and Admissions Assistants who will support our admissions teams to deliver an excellent service to our applicants and other stakeholders. Successful candidates will be placed within one of our admissions teams, working as part of our centralised admissions service.
Our Admissions Office operates a centralised admissions service, responsible for 100,000 applications to courses across the University each year. Our service consists of 12 equally important sub-teams:
- Undergraduate Admissions Team
- Postgraduate-taught Admissions Team
- Postgraduate Research and Professional Courses Admissions Team
- Tuition Fee Assessment and Compliance Team
Our teams currently work on a variable-hybrid basis, with a typical requirement to work in the office 2‑3 days per week.
The role involves:
- Providing a high quality and consistent service to applicants and enquirers and promoting a customer‑focused approach within the team.
- Undertaking application assessment, making admissions decisions on applications against set‑criteria.
- Working flexibly to support the wider recruitment and admissions team, supporting events and activities, as required.
The ideal candidate will possess the following key skills and experiences:
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent administrative skills, ideally with some experience working in a similar role in an education or customer service‑related setting.
- Ability to manage a high volume of work, quickly and consistently.
- Ability to rapidly develop knowledge and understand complex processes.
The contracted place of work for these positions is Manchester, and successful candidates must hold valid permission to work in the UK.
