The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
You will work in a team of three to deliver one of three lessons per week to a group of English language learners (between 10-20 learners). These learners are B2 level and developing their General English skills and also preparing for the IELTS examination. You will be responsible for teaching ONE of the lessons each week. For every hour that you teach, you will be paid another hour for preparation and administrative duties. The timetable is: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (10am-1pm).
All lessons will be face to face on the Manchester Met All Saints campus.
The scheme of work and textbooks will be provided, but you will be expected to plan the lessons and produce supporting resources (i.e. PowerPoint presentations/exercises on worksheets). Other administrative duties will also need to be completed (such as the register and record keeping).
Accreditation
This course is run via the university’s English Language Centre which is accredited by the British Council. Consequently, please only apply if you hold a Trinity Cert TESOL or CELTA certificate.

Eligibility
This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements:
- Hold a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., Trinity CERT, CELTA, DELTA, or equivalent).
- Demonstrate proven experience in teaching English as a Foreign Language to diverse learners, ideally including preparation for IELTS exams.
- Strong knowledge of communicative teaching methodologies and assessment strategies.
- Exhibit excellent classroom management skills, adaptability, and the ability to create engaging, learner-centred lessons.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Competence in integrating technology into teaching and familiarity with online learning platforms.
- Organized, reliable, demonstrate cultural sensitivity and passionate about helping students achieve their language goals.
