Manchester Fashion Institute (MFI) is seeking an ambitious and experienced Research Fellow to join our dynamic and internationally recognisable research team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in advancing impactful research in sustainability and circular fashion and textiles. As a Research Fellow, you will contribute to innovative projects that address critical industry‑wide challenges in sustainability, circularity, and responsible fashion practices. Working closely with senior academic leaders and external partners, you will help shape research that influences academia, industry, and policy at both national and international levels. The successful candidate will lead the development and delivery of high‑quality research activity, driving projects from concept through to dissemination. You will contribute to publications, funding applications, collaborative partnerships, and knowledge exchange activities that enhance the Institute’s global reputation for research excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support cutting‑edge research projects in sustainability and circular fashion and textiles.
  • Develop high‑quality research outputs, including journal publications and conference presentations.
  • Contribute to grant and funding applications with academic and industry partners.
  • Build collaborative relationships across academia, industry, and policy networks.
  • Support the dissemination and impact of research findings through events, reports, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Contribute to the strategic research objectives of Manchester Fashion Institute.

About You

You will be a motivated researcher with:
