The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role. This internship role is designed to support the day‑to‑day operations, marketing activities, and growth of the business while providing the student with practical experience across multiple areas of the events industry. The intern will work closely with the Ilsa Events to assist with administrative tasks, social media management, and business development initiatives, while also gaining exposure to event planning and delivery.

The role will involve helping to organise and manage internal processes, supporting the development of marketing and content strategies, and identifying opportunities to grow the business through partnerships, outreach, and brand visibility. The intern will also have the opportunity to assist with content creation and attend selected events to support on‑the‑day coordination. This position offers a well‑rounded introduction to how an events business operates, providing hands‑on experience in marketing, operations, and event management.

Administration & Business Support Responsibilities
  • Assist with general administrative tasks to support business operations
  • Organise documents, client information, and planning materials
  • Support scheduling, supplier communication, and internal systems
  • Assist with managing and scheduling social media content across platforms
  • Support the development of marketing campaigns and brand messaging
  • Monitor engagement and contribute ideas to grow online presence
  • Research potential partnerships, venues, and suppliers
  • Support outreach to potential collaborators and industry contacts
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for business growth and brand visibility
  • Assist in capturing behind‑the‑scene content for social media

Qualifications and Requirements

This role is only open to current Manchester Met students who have / are:

  • A motivated and proactive individual who is interested in gaining hands‑on experience within the events, marketing, and business development sectors.
  • Organised, creative, and confident in supporting both operational and strategic areas of the business.
  • A strong interest in marketing, brand growth, and the events industry, with the ability to contribute ideas and support the development of the business.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, and willing to take initiative across a variety of tasks.
  • Strong organisational skills, as the intern will support administrative tasks, scheduling, and internal processes.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities will be highly beneficial.
  • An understanding of social media platforms and content creation is desirable, as the role will involve supporting the business with online presence, content planning, and engagement.
  • Creativity and a willingness to contribute ideas for brand development will be valued.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, professionalism, and a positive attitude when working with clients, suppliers, and industry partners.
